You’re moving into a place with home security components
A new home may come with an existing security system. All the components function well, are placed in the right spaces, and are ready to go. In this case, just pick up the phone to call and establish a new monitoring contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to make sure there are no compatibility problems, and they might offer ideas on upgrades. It's a quick visit, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a one-time transfer fee to make the transfer easier. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to a condo or smaller home, you keeping the security contract may be an addendum of the sale.
You need to move and take your home security components with you
You might need to take your existing home security components with you to a new place when you move. Luckily, it's pretty simple to transfer, as many components are portable. You can uninstall each alarm or camera by yourself or call a professional expert to take down the system. Then our installers will hang the same devices -- and any smart services you need to add -- in the new home. The home security contract will remain the same.
